I purchased this JanSport backpack when I was in high school in the early 1980s, and it has been with me ever since. Now, nearly 60 years old myself, it's finally time to let someone else enjoy a true piece of American-made JanSport history.

Unlike today's backpacks, this vintage JanSport was built to last. It features heavyweight burgundy nylon, genuine leather lash tabs, a reinforced leather bottom, heavy-duty zippers, and the legendary craftsmanship that made vintage JanSport packs famous.

Condition:

This backpack is in good vintage condition and remains fully functional. It shows honest wear consistent with over four decades of use, giving it the character that only a truly vintage piece can have.

The leather has developed a beautiful natural patina. The nylon shows normal fading and signs of use. The interior has some staining/discoloration from years of faithful service (please see photos). All zippers work properly, and there are no major tears or structural damage.

I honestly hate to let this one go. It has been with me since high school in the early 1980s and has traveled through a lifetime of adventures.
